Extension of the Elderly home, creation of 9 Dementia care units offering a total of 123 places

Characteristics of the operation

Restructuring and extension of a not for profit nursing home managed by ACEP (Association for the Creation of Pilot Facilities for Elderly Persons) and initially consisting of 2 buildings connected by a single walkway. In total, the new building comprises (restructuring + extension):

  • 70 conventional long-term beds for permanent clients
  • 117 long-term beds for permanent persons with Dementia
  • 6 long-term beds for temporary persons with Dementia
  • 10 day-care places

Installation of a highly integrative ground-floor space shared by all the residents, organized around a village area and patio to strengthen the connection between the 2 structures.

On the upper floors, creation of 9 special units designed for persons suffering of Dementia, subdivided into 3 units on each of 3 floors and including 1 unit for clients with severe behavioural disorders.

The rooms measure between 20 and 27 m² and are all individual (with 6 of them being communicating rooms).
